As we approached our cross-country trip to Texas, I couldn't help but feel a void in our family. It had been months since we lost our beloved dog Jack, and we missed the presence of a furry friend in our lives. So, with a little bit of persuasion and some adorable photos, I convinced Brian to consider adopting a new dog.
That's when we found Love Puff, a mixed breed dog that stole our hearts from the moment we saw him online. Although he had a family coming to pick him up, we applied for adoption for one of his siblings, and we were approved. However, on Friday afternoon, we received a message saying that Love Puff's family fell through, and we could meet him on Saturday and choose the best puppy for our family.
When we went to the adoption meeting, we knew we could come home with any of the puppies, but Love Puff had a certain charm that we couldn't resist. Despite the silly name, we knew he was the one for us. After some discussion, we decided to change his name to Atlas, which seemed fitting for the new adventures we were about to embark on together.
Now, one year later, Atlas has grown into a handsome and loyal companion. We've watched him grow up so fast and couldn't be more proud of him. Although he's not a big fan of car rides, we're looking forward to the day when he can enjoy our 25-acre farm full-time. We know he'll make an excellent farm dog and can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead for us as a family.
We will always be grateful for rescue organizations like Ruff Life Rescue who work tirelessly to help animals find their forever homes.
