We have some exciting news to share with you all. Recently, we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to stop by the local farm store and found ourselves in front of the cutest little baby chickens. Without hesitation, I made a quick call to my husband and it did not take long before we had 3 Blue Production and 3 Cochin chicks in our possession.

Although I have been tempted to go back for more, I have managed to reign myself in until the coop is fully functional. We bought our coop from another homesteader friend and we are excited to fix it up and get it operable for our first flock of chickens!

Check out this amazing view of the chicken coop and where it will be set up. The location is perfectly shaded and there's plenty of space for our chicks to enjoy the grass and bugs. We couldn't have asked for a better spot to raise our chickens.

Our first priority is to get the coop in tip-top shape for our new additions. We've been working hard to clean it up, make any necessary repairs, and get it ready for our baby chicks. It's a labor of love, but we know that it will be worth it in the end.

We are so excited to start this new chapter in our farming journey. Raising chickens is a great way to provide our family with fresh eggs and it's also a wonderful learning experience for our children. We can't wait to see what the future holds for our little flock.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build our homestead and welcome new animals to our farm. Thanks for joining us on this exciting journey!
